Senate Passes Anti-Planned Parenthood Bill Allowing States to Cut Funding For Abortions

VP Mike Pence casts tie-breaking vote to pass legislation. —>

The Senate passed a bill today allowing states to cut federal funds to Planned Parenthood (and other) clinics that provide abortions, USA Today reported.

The legislation is now on President Trump’s desk awaiting his signature.

VP Mike Pence cast the deciding vote, breaking a 50-50 tie. The measure will reverse the pro-abortion agenda promulgated by former President Obama, who prohibited states from withholding funds to abortion providers.

Democrats opposed to the bill claimed it was an example of the so-called “war on women” being waged by Republicans.

Planned Parenthood has been embroiled in controversy over the last several years following undercover reports from the Center for Medical Progress proving the abortion facility illegally sold baby organs for a profit. Leftists have condemned CMP for their Project Veritas-style reporting in order to divert from their findings.

In fact, CMP investigators have been charged with 15 crimes in California for exposing the Planned Parenthood eugenicist factory.
