Bill labeling Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist org. receives bipartisan support. —>
President-Elect Donald Trump will pass a Ted Cruz-sponsored bill aimed at designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, his foreign policy adviser Walid Phares revealed to an Egyptian News outlet on 11/13.
The anti-jihadist legislation has already been approved by the House Judiciary Committee earlier in 2016. It has since been referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee but later stymied by President Obama.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz introduced the bill as a means to identify terrorist organizations and curtail their ability to perpetuate the Wahhabi strand of Islam.
“We have to stop pretending that the Brotherhood are not responsible for the terrorism they advocate and finance… We have to see it for what it is: a key international organization dedicated to waging violent jihad,” Cuz said to the Washington Free Beacon in November 2015.
President-Elect Trump has called for a temporary ban on immigration from war-torn Middle Eastern nations with conflicting ideologies until officials can institute a more stringent vetting process.
The real estate mogul’s hardline approach to combating Islamic terorrism could be one of the reasons why the murdering Saudi government desperately wanted his presidential bid to fail.
