NY Post reports that Donald Trump has chosen his VP. —>
Pence is a far-right conservative and member of the Tea Party movement who has legislative experience within the House of Representatives and strong Christian principles, Trump will make the formal announcement in public Friday morning at Trump Tower in New York City.
The Indiana governor was the subject of some controversy following comments on the LGBT community in 2000 in which he stated “Congress should oppose any effort to recognize homosexuals.” He also stated that he opposes homosexuals joining the military.
Pence likely got the VP nod as a result of his strong support of border security, in June 2006 the Indiana native introduced a plan described as a “no amnesty immigration reform” package consisting of increased security on the border along with strict legislation on businesses hiring illegals. More recently, he has attempted to prevent Syrian “refugees” from settling in his state.
Trump’s VP pick was previously rumored to be Newt Gingrich.
