Dartmouth College display honoring law enforcement officers removed and replaced by “Black Lives Matter” group.
“Black Lives Matter” supporters removed and replaced a display honoring police officers at Dartmouth College on 5/13 according to students from the university’s College Republicans group.
The tribute was a “Blue Lives Matter” display honoring the hard work of police officers, many of whom gave their lives in order to protect the community, near the campus library. “Black Lives Matter” supporters responded to the gesture by removing the stand and replacing it with four fliers each reading the following message:
“You cannot co-opt the movement against state violence to memorialize its perpetrators. #BlackLivesMatter.”
The black supremacist group whose ideological leader was a cop killer defaced the tribute for law enforcement officers due to concerns from BLM that the display did not address incidents of police brutality.
School administrators reportedly didn’t respond or condemn the incident until two days later. College President Phil Hanlon sent a campus-wide email Sunday calling the initial remove of the police display “an unacceptable violation of freedom of expression.” But Hanlon also equated the billboard drama to a November incident in which Black Lives Matter t-shirts were removed from a display. The police tribute was reportedly put back up days later along with a sign reading: “We will not be silenced, Blue Lives Matter.”
While the College Republicans at Dartmouth were able to curtail the bully tactics of the militant “Black Lives Matter” group this time, the social justice warrior agitators will likely return fire as soon as possible.
