RNC chairman Reince Priebus declared on Twitter late Tuesday night that Donald Trump is the nominee of the Republican party and that it is time to rally around him as the general election looms around the corner.

Following the announcement by Senator Ted Cruz regarding the suspension of his campaign, Priebus sent out a Tweet calling for unity:

“.@realDonaldTrump will be presumptive @GOP nominee, we all need to unite and focus on defeating @HillaryClinton #NeverClinton,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the John Kasich campaign responded by Tweeting that Kasich “appreciates” Priebus’ for his hard work but “until someone has 1237 delegates there is no presumptive nominee.”

Kasich also wrote “CA here we come” as if he has a realistic chance of winning.

The social media declaration by Priebus is one that likely came after some kicking and screaming as the Republican establishment has absolutely refused to coalesce around Trump despite the real estate tycoon being the presumptive nominee, arguably, for the last three months.

As it stands, the corporate donor class may be completely out of options (for now).

  1. It looks like Prius has some common sense after all. Better Trump than Hitlery.
We’re not wanting her RACIAL deception anyway!

  2. John Kasich has been on leave from his governorship of the state of Ohio for how many months now?…Too many for sure…Me thinks Kasich enjoys being away from his home state fantasizing he will become the next nominee for the Presidency…he has no funds to support his campaign so where is the money coming from…Me think the taxpayers of Ohio need investigate John Kasich as to where and how he is getting his funding?…With so many months away from his duties as Governor why does Ohio even need one?
