Rand Paul, Donald Trump Voice Concerns Over New Trillion Dollar Omnibus Bill

The bill totaled 2,242 pages and Rand Paul said nobody even read it.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, who pledged to make sure congress actually reads the bills, noted on Sunday that nobody even read the new $1.1 trillion government spending bill that made it through congress last week.

Paul voted against it.

“It was over a trillion dollars, it was all lumped together, 2,242 pages, nobody read it, so frankly my biggest complaint is that I have no idea what kind of things they stuck in the bill,” Paul told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on New York’s AM-970.

“I voted against it because I won’t vote for these enormous bills that no one has a chance to read,” he added.

“We were given it yesterday or the day before the bill came forward, and so this is not a way to run government. It’s a part of the reason why government is broke.” Source

Common sense dictates that with the national debt rising by the second, congress should only spend the money it has.

Apparently, establishment Republicans and Democrats disagree.

Instead, they recently passed a trillion dollar spending bill that serves to bankrupt this nation further.

Senator Paul correctly indicated to The Hill that both parties are at fault for the new bill.  He said that we should “balance our budget and only spend what comes in,” a discernment you would think more politicians would align with.

Donald Trump agreed that the bill was a disastrous move and the leading republican candidate even said his own party “threw in the towel” by passing it.

“If anyone needs more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan,” Trump said in a statement to ABC News.  Source

Trump added:

“The only special interest not being served by our government is the American people,” Trump said. “It is time we imposed budget discipline by holding the line on spending, getting rid of waste, fraud and abuse, and by taking on our debt. To do these things, we need a president who can lead the fight to hold Congress and the rest of the government accountable.”

The new bill revealed that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (otherwise known as Paul RINO) is just as big of a neocon as John Boehner was. If we are going to turn this country around, removing and replacing Ryan from his position will be a necessity.
