Ohio College Students Offended by “Culturally Appropriative” Food

No, that headline is not a joke.

Students at a leftist college in Ohio are outraged over fried chicken, sushi, General Tso’s chicken (which isn’t even a Chinese dish) and Vietnamese sandwiches which have been served in the school’s main cafeteria over the last few months.

They said the dishes were “insensitive” and “culturally inappropriate”.

The Oberlin College students said the dining choices were “ridiculous” and asked how the college could “throw out something completely different and label it as another country’s traditional food.”  Source

Tomoyo Joshi, a student from Japan, said the sushi rolls served at the school’s cafeteria were “disrespectful” according to the Oberlin Review.

“When you’re cooking a country’s dish for other people, including ones who have never tried the original dish before, you’re also representing the meaning of the dish as well as the culture,” she said. “So if people not from that heritage take food, modify it and serve it as ‘authentic,’ it is appropriative.”

This story is yet another example of the totalitarian, politically correct thought police destroying college campuses across the country.  Instead of universities being a place for learning and growth, they’ve turned them into a haven for basket-cases to complain about literally everything.

Political correctness isn’t just a disease, it’s quickly becoming the single biggest attack on free speech and free thought this country has ever seen. It’s successfully turned young capable minds into perpetually offended, psychopathic social justice warrior lunatics.
