2004 interview reveals Donald Trump’s distaste for Washington-backed corruption.
If you’re looking for evidence that Donald Trump is the real deal, his comments in a CNN interview from 2004 should give you hope.
The interview highlighted Donald Trump’s criticism of the Iraq war and his distaste for the liars in Washington. His comments revealed the real estate mogul’s ability to attack criminal elements of the establishment during a time of crisis.
Even more interesting were Trump’s predictions on the fallout from the Iraq war.
He correctly predicted that Iraq would devolve into a “breeding ground” for terrorists. He correctly predicted that “Saddam Hussein will be a nice person” compared to the product of the war, which turned out to be ISIS. He also correctly predicted that circumstances in Iraq would “blow up” after the U.S. pulled out.
Furthermore, the current GOP front-runner attacked Washington bureaucrats for lying to the American people:
“Look, everything in Washington has been a lie. Weapons of mass destruction was a total lie. It was a way of attacking Iraq which he (President Bush) thought was going to be easy and it turned out to be the opposite of easy,” Trump said.
“Everything is a lie, it’s all a big lie”
The CNN interview, which was conducted 11 years ago, revealed that Trump had the same drive to fight back against the establishment then as he does now. His willingness to expose liars in Washington in 2004 might indicate his willingness to rid government of those same liars in 2016.
