Irwin Schiff Passes Away

Irwin Schiff, who went to prison for writing a book, passed away Friday according to the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator.

Although Schiff was incarcerated for standing up to the establishment, his books titled “How Anyone Can Stop Paying Income Tax” and “Federal Mafia: How It Illegally Imposes and Unlawfully Collects income Taxes” resonated with Americans nationwide and aided in spreading his message.

Schiff, 87, dedicated himself to fighting the tyrannical and unconstitutional practices of the federal government.  His books asserted that income tax is illegal and they outlined a specific plan for what the average American could do about it.

In response, the state sent him to prison.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer while his son Peter fought for his release.

Irwin Schiff, imprisoned for his resistance to the federal income tax, died yesterday. Efforts by his son, the noted financial commentator Peter Schiff, to secure his release from prison so that he could die with his family, were unsuccessful. Schiff’s sad passing illustrates an essential truth about the state: if you resist its orders, you will be dealt with by force.  Source

Irwin received worse treatment than most rapists and murderers for daring to challenge the state.
