Tea Party-backed petition seeks to fire Republican John Boehner.
Congressman Mark Meadows of North Carolina spoke out against John Boehner on multiple occasions, stating his frustrations with the current Republican Speaker of the House. The Tea Party responded by Tweeting a petition backed by their group to remove the Republican Speaker for the following reasons:
-Consolidated power and decision-making, bypassing the 435 Members of Congress and the people they represent.
-Rendered Congress subservient to the Executive and Judicial Branches, diminishing the voice of the American people.
-Used the power of his office to punish Members of Congress who vote according to their conscience.
-Consistently provided voice votes on controversial legislation without notice in order to pass it without resistance.
The movement aims to remove John Boehner from his current position, and replace him with a patriot that will heed attention to the American people as opposed to special interests.
